Finally, the United States formally rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement. The country returned to the historic deal on Friday.

On January 20, just hours after being sworn in as president, Joe Biden signed an executive order to return to the Paris climate agreement.

The 30-day process to return to the contract began that day. Former US President Donald Trump announced in 2017 that he would pull the United States out of the Paris Agreement. However, in accordance with UN rules, this decision came into force on November 4, 2020.
