New Zealand has banned all high-level contacts with Myanmar and imposed travel bans on the country's military leaders.

New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern made the announcement on Tuesday after last week's coup in Myanmar. The news agency Reuters has reported this information.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told a news conference: "Our clear message is, We will ensure all possible assistance from New Zealand and stop contacting them at a high level. And our government will not provide any assistance in all the projects in which the military is involved.

He added that from 2018 to 2021, a 30 million aid project was underway in New Zealand.
