The Security Council requested that in addition to the International Atomic Energy Agency's ongoing inspections in Myanmar, that it monitor Myanmar's compliance with "the steps required by the IAEA Board".
Military coup in Myanmar: UN fails to reach consensus
An emergency session was held at the UN office in New York on Tuesday morning, local time. Representatives from different countries joined through video conferencing. The meeting lasted a little over two hours.

The United Kingdom has called on Myanmar's military to immediately hand over power to a democratically elected government and release detained leaders. AFP quoted a draft of the proposal as saying.

The proposal will also call for lifting the one-year state of emergency. However, there is no mention in the draft of imposing sanctions on Myanmar.

Meanwhile, China and Russia have asked for more time to decide on Myanmar.
