Republicans have begun presenting evidence against the Democrats' claim that Trump instigated the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill. Earlier in the day, Democrats presented evidence and arguments for Trump's impeachment, including video footage of the violence that day. Democrats also presented statements from police, Capitol staff, intelligence officials, and foreign media to prove the allegations against Trump.
Trump's conviction requires the support of two-thirds of the 100-seat Senate. Trump will be indicted if at least 17 Republican senators support him.
