The incident took place in Tokyo, Japan. This has been said in a report of NDTV. Police confirmed to AFP that a 48-year-old woman, Yumi Yoshino, had been detained while rescuing her body from an apartment in Tokyo on Wednesday (January 26th).
Yumi Yoshino told the media on Saturday (January 30th) that he feared he might be evicted if his mother's body was found.
He added that he lived in this house with his mother. He hid his mother's body for ten years because he did not want to leave the house.
Kyodo News says his mother previously leased an apartment in the municipal housing complex. It is estimated that he was about 60 years old at the time of his death.
Unable to pay the rent, Yoshino was forced to leave the apartment in mid-January, and a cleaner discovered the body in a freezer hidden in a room.
An autopsy also failed to determine the time and cause of death of the deceased woman.
