202 passengers have returned home from London amid the risk of new coronavirus in the UK. All of them have been instructed to stay in home quarantine for 14 days.
Bangladesh Biman's BG 202 flight landed at Sylhet Osmani Airport at 9:10 am on Thursday (December 24). 165 passengers landed in Sylhet and 37 in Dhaka. Although all the passengers had corona negative credentials, a team from the health department at Sylhet Osmani Airport checked whether any of the passengers were infected with corona. In addition, after the screening, all passengers were advised to stay in the home quarantine for 14 days.
Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury, manager of Sylhet Osmani Airport, said 165 Sylhet residents came from London on BG 202 flight from London's Heathrow Airport. They were specially examined by a team from the health department.
Health Minister Zahid Malek said on Wednesday (December 23rd) that if a passenger from the United Kingdom arrives in Bangladesh without a Covid-19 negative certificate, he or she must be on mandatory quarantine for seven days. There will be separate lines at the airport for all passengers coming from the UK. Those who do not have a certificate will be tested there. From there they will be sent to the compulsory quarantine at the Hajj Camp in Ashkona, Dhaka.
