A devastating fire has started near a Marine base in the US state of California and is spreading over time. More than 7,000 people have already been evacuated from the area.

The blaze started last Wednesday and by noon on Thursday, it had burned 3,000 acres of trees and crop fields. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Control provided this information.

No major damage or casualties have been reported from the blaze so far, but people have been evacuated from all the houses near the base due to the severity of the blaze.

Firefighters were unable to contain the blaze until midnight, said Capt. Thomas Schutz. He also said that the cause of the fire was being investigated.

A recent wildfire in California burned down at least 10,000 homes and killed 30 people. Then the fire started there again.
