Paolo Rossi, the hero of Italy's 1982 FIFA World Cup victory, has died at the age of 64.

Rossi scored a total of six goals for Italy in the 1982 World Cup. He was the best player of the tournament for scoring the highest number of goals. He won both the Golden Ball-Boots in that event held in Spain.

After Garrinch and Mario Cambes, Rossi is the only footballer to have won three individual titles at the World Cup. The same year he won the Ballad d'Or. He has won two Serie A and one European Cup and Copa Italia in his career.

The European Winners' Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, is next to his name. Paolo Rossi has played the most matches of his career, 83 matches for Juventus. He also played for AC Milan and Hellas Verona.
