India have taken a 82-run lead against hosts Australia at the end of the second day of the Melbourne Test. At the end of the day, the visitors collected 277 runs for 5 wickets.
Shubhaman Gill and Chetashwar Pujara started the second day with 36 runs for 1 wicket. Shubh Mann returned to the dressing room with Pat Cummins' 61 for the team and 45 for the individual. Pujara could not go far. He also caught the ball of Cummins by Tim Payne for 17 runs.
After that, captain Ajinkya Rahane handled 52 runs for the fourth wicket with Hanuma Bihari and 57 runs for the fifth wicket with Rishav Pant. Rahane is turning his 23rd half-century into a twelfth century in white to lead the team to a big collection against Ajit.
Earlier, Australia were all out for 195 in the first innings.
