Boko Haram militants have killed 11 people in an attack on a church in northeastern Nigeria ahead of Christmas. At that time they kidnapped 7 people including the priest of the church.

Boko Haram members carried out the attack on trucks and bikes in the village of Pemi in the country's Borno state on Thursday (December 24th) evening.

According to CNN, members of Boko Haram initially fired indiscriminately. Homes in the area were set on fire. At that time he entered the church and killed 11 people. He kidnapped 7 people including the priest of the church.

Meanwhile, Boko Haram's top leader Abwaku Kabu told the media that he had been abducted.

He acknowledged responsibility and said 10 houses had been set on fire. 7 people have been killed. And looted food stored in the church for the feast. However, the bodies of 4 more people were recovered from the bushes next to the church.

Nigerian police say the militants came from the Sambisa forest near Borno state. Boko Haram members raided a hospital and looted drugs and other equipment before attacking the church.
