Qatar's preparations for the 2022 World Cup have not stopped even in the midst of the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis. FIFA is not sitting still.

Gianni Infantino, president of the world governing body for football, visited Qatar's newly built Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday. The stadium has a capacity of 60,000 spectators.

It is designed in the style of a traditional Arab tent. Construction is in its final stages. The Al Bayt Stadium will host a number of group stage matches, including the opening match of the 2022 World Cup.

There will also be a core quarter-final and semifinal match here. In all, the next World Cup will be held in eight venues, three of which are fully prepared.

After visiting Al Bayat Stadium, the FIFA president said that the stadium will give a true taste of football with the local atmosphere.
