The Venezuelan military has claimed that another US drug plane had been shot down.

Venezuelan Interior Minister Nestor Reverol said. Earlier in July, Venezuela's military command announced the downing of a US airliner.

"The downed plane was registered in the United States and was being used for drug trafficking," Interior Minister Reverol said in a Twitter post. The plane entered Venezuelan skies illegally through the province of Julia. However, after identifying the plane, the Venezuelan military downed it in accordance with all the rules and regulations.

"We are on constant alert, always monitoring our skies so that our airspace cannot be used for illegal drug smuggling from Colombia," Reverol said.
