The World Health Organization's chief scientist, Soumya Swaminathan, has warned of a suspension of the Oxford coroner's vaccine.

He said in a virtual briefing in Geneva on Thursday that this could happen in a clinical trial. He advised the researchers not to despair for this reason.

Earlier, work on the Oxford and AstraZeneca vaccines was suspended in the United Kingdom and India due to an illness.
