The World Health Organization has approved the protocol for testing African herbal medicines for possible treatment against coronavirus and similar viruses. The protocol was approved by the agency on Saturday.
Experts from the World Health Organization and staff from two other organizations approved the formation of a third-stage clinical trial of herbal medicine for the treatment of corona, as well as the formation of an information and safety monitoring board under various conditions.
A few months ago, the President of Madagascar, Andr Razoelina, claimed that a drink made from an herbal plant called Artemisia was able to cure corona. In response to his claim, the World Health Organization approved the protocol for testing herbal medicines.
Drugs made from Artemisia have been shown to be effective in treating malaria. However, its effectiveness in Corona has not yet been proven.
