Twenty-two officers involved in last week's rescue operation in Kerala, India, have contracted coronavirus (Covid-19).
A medical officer from Malappuram said this on Friday (August 14). The doctors are keeping a close eye on them.
The country's media reported that 22 officers who took part in the rescue operation have been placed in quarantine. The plane was coming from Dubai to Kozhikode airport in Kerala with Indians trapped in the Corona epidemic.
While landing in heavy rain, the Air India Boeing 737 Boeing with 190 passengers was torn in two. Each of them was stranded in Dubai due to the Corona epidemic. However, the plane crashed after touching the runway at the airport.
18 people including the pilot were killed in the accident. Several people were injured. The injured were rushed to a hospital where they were tested for coronavirus (Covid-19).
