The manager of BIWTC at Shimulia Ghat said that the ferry wharf No. 3 of Shimulia was hit by the strong current and erosion of the Padma at noon. At this time the pontoon became detached from the ghat and floated in the Padma. Besides, the roads connecting the ghats shops, and mosques have been submerged in water. Currently, Ro-Ro ferry service is closed. The other two ghats are in operation. 150 vehicles are waiting in the ghat area.

Meanwhile, four ferries at Daulatdia in Rajbari were closed due to rising water. According to BIWTC, 15 ferries were active since morning. However, strong currents disrupted ferry traffic. Later, four ghats were closed but buses and sacrificial animals were crossing the other ghats on a priority basis. On the other hand, ferry traffic is being disrupted in Patria of Manikganj due to strong current. Hundreds of vehicles have been waiting for the ferry crossing since morning.
