Volunteer medical technologists working at the National Institute of Laboratory Medicine and Referral Center are on a hunger strike demanding permanent employment.

They started the program in front of the organization from Friday evening.

Protesters say they have been testing the corona under adverse conditions. Three to three and a half thousand corona samples are tested here every day. So far 1 lakh 37 thousand samples have been tested.

At present, they are also testing corona for foreign passengers. But they are complaining that the government has hired 202 medical technologists but has not taken action against them. Meanwhile, as a result of the strike of technologists, the collection and testing of samples at the institution has stopped.

The protesters said they would not return to work until a decision was made on their permanent appointment.
